What is Yield 3.0?
Definition used on this board: yield that is paid automatically (no staking, no claiming), in real assets (e.g. gold, BTC, treasuries, dollars), directly into a wallet you control.
Yield 1.0 was paid in inflationary governance tokens you had to farm and claim. Yield 2.0 brought real-world assets on-chain, but mostly behind KYC and allowlists. Yield 3.0 combines both: real-asset payouts with no custody handover and no claim step. Products in this category today include GOAT Safebox (provisional) and Seasons.
Example: Seasons
Hold 10,000 $SEAS on Solana in your own wallet and it counts as a Node. Twice a week (Sunday and Wednesday) payouts arrive automatically: 30% XAUt0 (tokenized gold), 30% wBTC, 40% jlUSDC. No staking, no claiming, no KYC. Builder Nodes start at 1,000 $SEAS with weekly payouts.
Risks & where the yield comes from
- The yield is mainly funded by a 10% tax on $SEAS trades, plus lending (SSYM) and DeFi vaults (YAV). It comes from trading activity, not from the gold or BTC itself. Low volume means lower payouts.
- You hold $SEAS, so you bear its full price risk. Payouts in real assets do not protect your principal.
- Smart-contract, bridge (XAUt0, wBTC) and lending risks apply.
- We have not found a public audit link; we do not show marketing APYs.
- Disclosure: this board is built by the Seasons team.
The same questions apply to every Yield 3.0 product: Who pays? In what? What do I risk?
